What We Do.

Promote the versatility of the naturally Pointing Labrador Retriever through monthly club training days with members, host two American Pointing Labrador Association Hunt Tests per year in E. WA and surrounding areas.

Provide a venue for Pointing Lab owners to meet with other owner/amateur, handler/trainers to share their knowledge of handling and training to successfully hunt or compete and title their Pointing Lab, and periodically offer clinics or seminars from dog professionals to aid in reaching our members’ dog training goals.

Annual dues entitle members access to:

Access to property to train on from Moses Lake, Tri Cities and Spokane.

Access to birds, waterfowl and training equipment.

Help from knowledgeable members and professional trainers.  

Monthly training days focusing on the upland field and retriever skills.

Learn how to handle and train your pointer for upland and water fowl hunts.

Fun club events, clinics and seminars by Professional trainers.

Other special opportunities as available, e.g. snake aversion training, eye certification exams, vet clinics, obedience training and more.

APLA Hunt Test opportunities to certify your pointing lab twice yearly and possibly more through other NW clubs, Northwest Pointing Labrador Club, Southern Idaho Pointing Lab clubs, Rocky Mountain Pointing Lab club (CO) Sky Pointing Lab Club (MT), Northern California Pointing Labs club and South California Pointing Lab club. Social opportunities to meet other amateur Pointing Labrador Retriever owners and share ideas and techniques to train the naturally pointing lab.

Club resources include professional trainers, live birds, equipment, training grounds, etc. and are shared to promote the success of the club, its members, and their Pointing Labrador Retrievers.
